About Our Founders

Fun fact: Jack Appleby and Jim Carbaugh met in a classroom. At the time, Jack was a young teacher trying to scrape by and figure out how to apply textbook protocols to a classroom full of rambunctious teens. Jim was wondering if he really needed to stay wake through lectures on atoms in biology class to succeed in life. Nevertheless, Jack made an impression on Jim with his individual care for each student and invigorating style of instruction. Jim impressed Jack with his quickness and intellect.Fast forward to a few decades later when they reconnected through the county education system. But now, inspired by the example, Jim was now a teacher, and the two embarked on many collaborations to make teaching effective and learning fun. Teach Forward is their newest partnership.

With over 50 years in education, Jack Appleby brings deep expertise and uncommon clarity to every conversation. From biology teacher to principal to international educational reformer, Jack has helped schools across the globe rethink how learning works.

With experience in both public and private education, Jack blends best practices with meaningful purpose—always keeping students and teachers at the center.

Jim Carbaugh is a TEDx speaker, educator, coach, and founder of All Points Leadership, with over 40 years of experience helping individuals and organizations grow. Blending a love for the outdoors with deep leadership insight, Jim brings transformative guidance to teams, schools, and leaders around the world.

A certified John Maxwell coach and co-author of Cracking the Rich Code and The Shop Secret, Jim is known for his compelling storytelling and his innovative L.E.A.R.N. Principles, which are reshaping how people lead and learn.

Professional Development Trainings

We’re developing dynamic professional development workshops designed to equip teachers and school leaders with fresh tools, practical strategies, and renewed inspiration. From lesson planning to time management strategies to student engagement techniques, our trainings will blend best practices with innovation—helping educators stay effective, energized, and forward-focused.

Each course is based on the real-life questions and reoccurring topics that teachers have brought up during mentoring sessions throughout the years. So, each course will be jam-packed with the practical wisdom, we’ve seen applied and proven!

We know you as teachers and administrators have full plates and limited time. That’s why, these trainings will be web-based and on-demand, meaning that you can take them at your own pace. Whether you prefer curling up on the couch after dinner or at your kitchen table on Saturday mornings, we’ll be there to help you solve your problems!
